Last night, Chris and I played the mess out of some Crackdown over Xbox Live on our Xbox 360’s. What a night!
Chris and I played until 1:30AM this morning co-op and I believe he played single player until like 4:00AM this morning. We were jumping over everything, picking up everything, killing everybody, and blowing everything up. It was a lot of fun. The last time I played this game was when Joey and I played some online co-op. That was a month or so ago and after playing last night, I am going to have to put some more time into this game. It is extremely cool!
So, here’s the deal. If you don’t have a 360, get one. Once you get your 360, go out and buy a copy of Crackdown. Then, once you’re signed up on Xbox Live, add “Cocoa Crusty” to your Xbox Live Friends List and let’s get the carnage on!
Until next time!
I figured I would throw this post out there just to give an update to you on some of the happening in my life lately. This basically covers the last week or so of my life and what’s been going on. I think I have kept everyone abreast of the happenings in my life up to this point. Let’s start with last weekend…
Friday night, Joey, a.k.a. WooleyBooger, and I played a newly released game for the Xbox 360, Crackdown™, over Xbox Live. We ran and drove around and caused a whole lot of destruction. Crackdown™ is a game very similar to the games in the Grand Theft Auto franchise. The only difference is that, like Saint’s Row which I also own and is also a game in this genre, the graphics and physics blow the GTA games away. Both of these games, Crackdown™ and Saint’s Row, are extremely awesome!
Over the weekend I watched a couple of movies that I have recently purchased on DVD. The first one I watched was Crossover. This movie is about street basketball and I was kind of disappointed. The acting in this movie, in my opinion, wasn’t the best. It seemed dry. Even Nick Cannon wasn’t on top of his game in this movie in my opinion. But, I watched it until the end. Overall, I enjoyed the movie. I mean, I spent money on it without knowing anything about it so I had to at least watch it from start to finish to get my money’s worth out of it. I would probably watch it again, just not any time soon.
The second movie I watched was SAW II. Like its predecessor, SAW II kept me in suspense and I was wondering what was going to happen next, what kind of gadgets would cause extreme physical harm to the characters in the movie, and who would ever think to do some of the things displayed in this movie. This was a good movie and I can’t wait to watch SAW III. Maybe this coming weekend I will be able to watch SAW III and one of the other DVDs I have recently purchased.
As I stated in a previous post, my brother-in-law Caleb came down to stay with me this week. I always enjoy his company and when he is at my house I normally see more of his older brother, Daniel, as well. However, this week I haven’t seen Daniel at all. He works at Red Lobster and works quite a bit so I’m sure he has been busy.
I have been playing World of Warcraft (WoW) a little bit this week. My Blood Elf Paladin is now up to level 11. Since my brother-in-law came to stay with me this week and he is playing the game, too. I have had a really good time playing it and enjoy “grinding” quests. Caleb and I have been doing a lot of messing around with the game and he has two characters going, a Blood Elf Rogue and a Blood Elf Mage. He is really good at these types of games and has been owning at Runescape for a while, so I’m sure he will be really good and a high level on WoW before too long.
I had a follow up visit with my gut doctor yesterday. He still seems to think that my stomach related issues are stress related and causing stress related IBS. He just told me to stay on my medication and to try and relax and not let things worry me as much. Easier said than done…
Anyway, I think my February has been pretty well covered. I have made quite a few posts this month and am happy about my writing experiences on the blog. If anyone gets any enjoyment from reading my random ramblings then great. If not, I really enjoy blogging and will keep it up if only for my own personal enjoyment!
until next time…
I fired up my Xbox 360 this evening and was greeted by a wonderful sight on the 360 Dashboard. An old school favorite of mine was being advertised for sale in the Xbox Live Marketplace, Paperboy. I have played Paperboy for years and love every minute. I have played it in the arcade, on my Nintendo SNES, and on my original Xbox on Midway Arcade Treasures.
Oh, don’t think the fun stopped there because it didn’t! I fired up my Nintendo Wii, checked out the Wii Shop Channel, and saw that Kid Icarus for the original NES and Super Mario World for the SNES were recently addes and available for purchase and download. You better believe I pulled both of these titles down to the Wii. I remember playing these games back in the day and having a blast!
I think Microsoft and Nintendo are on the right track by making classic games available for “now-gen” consoles. I have purchased about 6 titles from the Wii Shop Channel and around 16 from the Xbox Live Marketplace. I mean, how cool is it that you can play games like Frogger, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Joust, Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, and now the games I mentioned above, on a current piece of hardware with some graphic and gameplay upgrades (Xbox only for graphic upgrades, 360 Achievement Points, and online gameplay)?
Being the Old School Player that I am, I really enjoy sitting down for some old school gaming and then turning around and playing next-gen games that blow anything away with amazing graphics, audio, and gameplay. Gaming has come a long way but it is still nice to see that these major players in the gaming industry still make the old school titles and franchises available to us for cheap.
Until next time…
…Comes Around.
Last night, Joey (a.k.a. WooleyBooger on Xbox Live) and I were playing Test Drive® Unlimited together and were getting a bit wild the longer we drove around. I was sporting my Lamborghini Murcielago and Joey was driving his 25th Anniversary Edition of the Lamborghini Countach. We were driving all over the island and happened to stumble upon another Xbox Live (XBL) gamer on a motorcycle lining up at one of the unofficial drag strips within the game. Here’s where the madness began…
I recently purchased and began playing the latest title in the Test Drive® franchise, Test Drive® Unlimited, on the Xbox 360. I have to say that this game is one of the better titles I have played in a while when it comes to a non-stressful, challenging, open-ended, racing game. The setting for this title is an island, which is pretty big mind you, and you are free to drive anywhere on it you choose, even if they’re aren’t paved roads where you want to go.
The graphics are more than acceptable on this game. They’re not as good as PGR3, but then again, PGR 3 doesn’t have all the terrain, birds and planes flying overhead, or AI controlled traffic to deal with. The scenery on this game looks really cool. Like I said earlier, you can drive anywhere you want to. You can pull into a parking lot at a near by building or drive across the grass and mountains attempting to avoid trees and boulders along the way.
I think the car models look pretty good considering everything that is going on. There are a number of vehicles to choose from that you can buy from the respective dealers or from other Xbox Live players. You can also get a number of motorcycle for cruising around the island.
