This morning I decided to visit the Gravatar web site and check out their blog to see if the service was ever going to come online again. It turns out that in early March there was a post explaining what was happening, how it was corrected, etc. However, I think it is funny that comments are no longer allowed on their blog. After the flame fest that ensued after their post explaining that Gravatar 2.0 was online and ready to go, but it wasn’t, I don’t blame them for pulling the comments from their blog. It was pretty bad…
Anyway, I have enabled Gravatars on my blog again and they do seem to be syncing properly. I like the idea of the globally recognized avatar, or Gravatar, so if you’re interested in having your mug shot, or an icon or image of your choosing, associated with your e-mail address, go to www.gravatar.com and register a free account which will allow you to use one e-mail address at no cost. Just to please me though, use the e-mail address you use to post comments on this site so I can see all the pretty little Gravatars in the comments. I kind of like it…
Until next time…

I always get so excited about this Gravatar thing and then it goes to crizzle in a hand basket… My Gravatar’s aren’t working again and the sites http://site.gravatar.com and http://blog.gravatar.com are down.
The sites being down could explain my delima, but, it could be more of the same as last time… The site comes up, it goes down, it comes up, it goes down, it comes up…

And, Gravatars appear to be working again… Such is life… with Gravatar.com!
