Weekend in Review: Mar 9th - Mar 11th

First of all, let me just ask, is it 11:54PM or 10:54PM… My mind and body can’t tell. The time change last night appears to have taken place already on all of my physical clocks, computers, etc., but my mind hasn’t really caught on yet. Just to be safe I have ironed my clothes for tomorrow and have already shaved my head and face. I don’t expect that my alarm going off at 6:35AM (5:35AM “my time”) tomorrow morning will have a very nice effect on me and I just might get up a little late… We’ll see.

I should also let everyone know (you know who all 3.234 of you are) that I didn’t ever get around to creating my giant poster (or was it a huge poster?) this weekend. I ended up doing some things around the house, working on a couple of projects for FS, and went to work today with Chris.

Now, let’s start with Friday night. I had a couple of mixed drinks, relaxed a little, and did some recording on my first song for my new album/EP (it depends on how many songs I can get cut before the summer). Chris came over and hung out with me for a while during this process and my wife’s cousin, Curtis, and a couple of his friends came by as well. We all got in on a little Wii action and bowled until we all determined we could not, I mean, could not beat Curtis. Good times. Thanks for hanging out guys!

Saturday, I woke up ad went driving off into Arkansas to try and take some photos of the fog. It seemed the closer I got the fog, the further away from me it would move. I guess I waited too long to get some “foggy” shots but it was a pretty morning with the fog covering everything on a dimly lit morning.

I then turned around and headed back to Texarkana to see my sister and did some troubleshooting on her laptop for her kids. It seems that her laptop will not play the movies on nickjr.com. I disabled anti-virus software. spyware software, verified plugins, updates, etc. and never could figure it out. I am still looking into this if anyone wants to chime in.

After I let my sister’s house, l did some shopping at WalMart for groceries and some other home necessities. Great fun! I always enjoy shopping for stuff that I actually need but that fun always ends once I get to the register… Anyway, I’m good on food for a while… TP as well!

I did some shopping at Kohls that just recently opened up here in Texarkana. Nice store. I am glad they came to town and built a store that is big enough to fit the demand of the people, unlike some new chains that have come to town recently. Also, Curtis and one of his friends came over later on Saturday night and we just kicked it for a bit.

Today, Sunday, I woke up bright an early (for me anyway) and picked up Chris for a fun day of replacing a server in one of our satellite offices and installing DST updates on our servers. This all seemed to go pretty smoothly, the part I was involved on anyway, except a couple of remote servers wouldn’t boot back up and require a “poke in the eye”, more commonly known as a hard down and reboot. I know Chris did a lot more than I did today (thanks, Chris!) but I hope I at least provided a little moral support and a good chauffeur service to and from the remote site.

While I was waiting on Chris to finish up on the new server install (yes, I offered to help) I played a little World of Warcraft and updated my FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE and Windows VISTA virtual machines that run under Parallels on my MacBook. That was about it for the work trip…

When I got home I crashed. I slept hard for about an hour. I woke up around 7:00PM (or was it 6:00PM?) and watched a movie which I highly recommend. I watched Friday Night Lights and thoroughly enjoyed it. I know its been out since 2004, but tonight was my first time to watch it, so there!

I guess that about wraps it up for my weekend. It is now 12:26AM (but to me its only 11:26PM) and I need to go to bed. I have our annual Sexual Harassment training to attend in the morning. Great fun! I wonder what I will learn this year?!

Until next time…

I had the same problem last night — went to bed about 12:30, but my body kept telling me it was only 11:30. My body wasn’t singing the same tune this morning when I had to get up, though!

Thanks for the update about the rest of your weekend!
