Everyone knows that you should destroy your sensitive documents like phone bills, credit card statements, etc. so you can keep your personal information out of the hands of evil doers and avoid identity theft, right? Well, last night when it was raining and about 34° I decided to build a fire in my fireplace. Back in the day when I would start a fire I would use the local newspaper to get my fire going (yes, I have a gas starter but natural gas is getting kind of pricey). I don’t take the paper anymore so I had to get a little resourceful.
I recently received a 46 page bill/statement from Cingular and I took that, along with some other bills, and had my fire going in no time. From now on in the winter months I am going to keep my documents that I would normally shred and use them for kindling to get my fireplace going. This way, I don’t have to pay for the gas to get it flaming. I’ll let my creditors foot the bill!
Until next time…

That sounds like a great idea to me! You’re right about natural gas prices, and they just seem to keep going up!

Yeah, it worked out pretty well for getting the fire going.
I don’t know if I can even afford to take a hot shower anymore with gas prices going sky high like they are!
